MKI MIYUKI ZOKU
STORY SO FAR
MKI Miyuki Zoku is a contemporary menswear brand founded in Leeds in 2010 by creative director Vik Tailor. The name comes from the Miyuki-zoku, a 1960s youth movement of students on Tokyo’s Miyuki Street, and the brand treats its clothes as a kind of everyday uniform.
It is still independently owned. Its flagship shop is in the Leeds Corn Exchange, and its range of heavyweight jersey, knitwear, outerwear, underwear and fragrance is also stocked by retailers such as END. Clothing.
It's known for it's neutral limited colour palette, over size fits and heavy weight material.
DESIGNED BY
Designed in-house by Vik Tailor and the MKI team in West Yorkshire. The brand says it designs and develops its own fabrics, focusing on fabric, fit and functionality.
UK-based: Yes.
MADE BY
MKI does not say on its own site where its clothes are made. Retailer listings show at least some of the range is produced abroad, for example its Uniform joggers are made in Portugal.
Some knitwear uses Shetland wool from Scotland.
