I started Demalo because I kept getting frustrated.

As a British designer I knew Britain has a long history of innovating and creating great products and services. So when it came to buying anything I'd always be on the look out for what we had to offer.

I'd read about a "British brand" — great story, beautiful product — then dig a little deeper and find it used to be designed in London, made in Vietnam, owned by a US private equity firm, and had no meaningful connection to Britain beyond a marketing line.

British people will be involved but it's not the full picture either.

So this site lists, filters and surfaces great companies that are employing local, making where they can in the UK and competing globally.

So if you want to support British designers and manufacturers it's worth checking to see if these brands products fulfil your needs.
