GLOVERALL
STORY SO FAR
Founded in 1951 in Cricklewood, north-west London by Harold and Freda Morris. The Morrises had been running H&F Morris, a wholesale glove and overall company (the source of the 'Gloverall' name), when the Ministry of Defence offered them a large surplus of unused WWII Royal Navy duffle coats. Demand outran supply, so Harold — son of a Savile Row master tailor — refined the original Naval pattern with leather hoop fastenings, horn toggles and a distinctive check-back Italian lining. Gloverall opened a custom-built factory in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, and by the late 1960s was selling into more than 40 countries including Hong Kong, Japan and Australia. The brand was included in the 1977 Silver Jubilee Honours list and supplied the duffle coats worn by the British Winter Olympic team in 1980 and again by Torvill and Dean at Sarajevo in 1984. Gloverall today designs across duffles, peacoats, parkas and outerwear under a 'British design since 1951' positioning.

MADE BY
Per the brand's own 'Made in England' page: the Heritage Collection — including the Original Monty Duffle Coat, the Morris duffle range, the Churchill Peacoat and the Clementine Peacoat — is made in England, drawing on traditional boiled wool, heritage tweeds and cotton fabrics. The wider non-heritage range is produced in selected partner facilities outside the UK; the brand maintains the 'Made in England' designation only for the heritage line. No parts-by-percentage breakdown published.
